During the last segment of the Sim•ply Bold Natural Hair Campaign, I had the opportunity to work with Dina; your future Obstetrician with the flourishing tresses. Intrigued by Dina’s passion for women’s rights considering the lack of representation for black women and their need for advocates in the health care system- It was imperative that I shared a bit about the light of this future Doctor. It is refreshing to know that there are women actively working and pursuing careers so that we can feel seen, heard and safe when we are at times our most vulnerable.

The health care system has be rather unforgiving and has not always been a safe space for black women. Learning about Dina’s passion for women’s rights in health care and how it is in alignment with her interest and purpose is the bit of encouragement and inspiration that we could all enjoy during these questionable times.

Being bold is not always about being boisterous; it can be something as simple as pursuing your calling and potentially changing lives one day at a time.
