Chance The Rapper- Coloring Book
Anticipating this Coloring Book Project By Chance The Rapper was like experiencing the joy I felt once I heard College Drop Out by Kanye West for the first time back in 2004. Chance became an instant favorite of mine after my first time hearing his previous work “Acid Rap”. His voice is one of a kind and his sound is not something to be easily duplicated. Listening to the project gave me a whole new life. From time to time with Hip Hop we need a reminder to be kool, take a breath and be grateful. Coloring Book is a project that reminds us all to be grateful. Grateful for artist willing to take risk. Grateful for artist unafraid of authenticity. Grateful for artist who are not afraid to take chances. This project is proof that Chance isn’t afraid to take chances. A project with features like Kanye West, Kirk Franklin, Two Chains, Elle Varner, Jay Electronica and Justin Beiber to name a few, is not a project you can only play once. From the melodic voices of the Chicago Children’s Choir to the unique sound of Lil Yachty on “Mixtape” chance has something for everyone. Not only does he take you out with an impeccable line up of producers and writers, he straight slaughters you with his unique vocal abilities and lyricism and proceeds to bring you back to life with blessings and dope 16’s.
